Newbie Q - what documents required with initial application?

Hi everybody,

I am going to apply soon, I have downloaded the forms and started filling them, so wish me luck.

My question is: I read here on the forum and on CIC website that documents are going to be requested in a later stage, but for the first step application, what documents do I need to send? Are there any requirements besides filling the forms and sending them soon?

Also, what sort of timelines should I expect? First I have to send the application, wait for some time, then get the approval and submit the rest of the documents, then wait for some time, then do medicals and then get the visa stamp, is this order correct? Are there any clear timelines for these steps?

I would appreciate your help and guidance, thank you very much and good luck to all in their applications!

BTW I'm applying from Dubai, UAE.

Hi,

you have to submit a copy of your passport and a statement detailing your job responsibilities alongwith forms and processing fee. the CIO, Sydney will go through your app and if they find you eligible they will give you a file no. and transfer your app to local CHC. and you are already aware of the rest of the process.

Thanks sanjeevindia for your clarification. Do I have to submit the IELTS results with the initial application or in a later stage with the rest of the docs?

I can see you got your visa within one year, that's impressive, I hope I will be able to get the same.
