New to the site, I have a few questions regarding this forum.

I'm kind of new to this site and I'm a bit lost regarding a few features.
I'd like to know a few things:

1. How do I thank people? Some users have been very helpful and if possible I'd like to do that. I've noticed there's already a reputation system in place. (is that a feature that is unlocked as you become a regular here?)

2. How do I update the information below my profile? I've seen a few users with that, and if possible I'd like to add some context to my current situation.

3. Is there anything I should know besides what's listed on the Help section?

You have to have a certain number of posts before certain features open up for you. After that, you can vote up people who have helped you and you can fill out your profile by clicking on your user name and then changing your profile info on the left.
