Hello All,
It's Jawad, from Pakistan. I am 31 years old and working as IT Manager in a private company. Going to apply soon under Skilled Worked category (1) which i believe comes in (NOC 0213).
After assessments I got to know I am eligible to apply.
Just joined this forum to take some guidance and help before applying. My details are as under below.

Education:
2 years Bachelors degree in computer sciences (14 Years)
Age:
31 years
IELTS:
Listening: 6, Reading: 5.5, Writing: 5.0, Speaking: 7.0, Overall: 6 Bands.
Relative in Canada:
Uncle
Spouse Education:
2 years Bachelors Degree (14 Years)

-I also had heard that they are finalizing some occupations in just 6 months to 12 months. Is that true?
-Is that better to use any consultant or do it on own?
-Can I apply for just myself and pay just 550$ and later on I can ask for my wife and kid?
-My IELTS is going to expire after a couple of months, if I apply now and its expires will I again go for this and get same bands?

Hope you guys wont mind to answer and guide me the best.

Regards,

J...

Dear Mr. Jawed

Its not necessary to apply through a consultant but if you apply indenpendently then you have to put some extra effort to prepare your documents. As myself is also applying indenpendently. According to me you have to pay fees of your wife and kid along with your own fees even if they will not accompany you. (Others can also guide here regarding fees here if I am wrong).
Wish you good luck

You have to do IELTS again as more than one year old IELTS certificate is not acceptable. Its up to you to retake IELTS before to apply or to do after applying you know your capability very well and decide accordingly. However curent is very speedy process. Hope it will help you

Thanks for your replies guys. But i was told that we can apply before IELTS expires, and they will consider it till process is not finished. Because if it start happening those who have applied for more then 4 years, they need to take exam 2 times.

I also got to know that initially just i will pay my fees if i dont intend to fetch my family, later on if i want to take them then their fees will be added, please any one can clear me on my issues?

Regards,

J...

Well the validity period of IELTS s 1 yr for immigration purpose n it shd be a General one,so if ur application reaches CIC b4 the expiry date of ur IELTS result then its ok otherwise u ve to retake it.
Well for Fee i m not sure but i think u can do it n deposit the fee for urself only initially but dnt forget to mention ur family in ur application.Other members also could throw some light on it.U ve not mentioned ur experience, it shd be atleast 1 yr in the same profession, although hopefully ur case could be decided(as per CIC site states)within an year as ur profession is included in the list of 38 professions.Good Luck

Thanks newcomer, i am sure what ever you are saying is right, my IELTS is going to expire this September, its under General category and i have some months to submit application, better i do it as soon as possible. I have already more then 4 years experience in different fields and specially in NOC category more then 1 year. So, what you guys think?

Regards,

J...

the validity of the IELTS result comes into play at the time you are required to submit it, this will in turn depend on when you apply and when you are asked to submit your supporting documents, and these factors cannot be forecasted with any certainty

secondly, your spouse and all dependent children must be included in your application and you must pay the fees for them at the time you apply whether they go to Canada with you or not, NO EXCEPTIONS

John, thanks for concern. My uncle, who is already in CA and holding passport applied alone and payed his fee at the time of applying. Later on he was asked that do he want to take his family with him, he said yes then he was told to proceed for them. One of my office guy did same, please check at your side again as there is no discussion on this on Application Package as well.

Regards,

J...

Rupeshhari,

Thanks for your reply. I know that i must have to mention that i have family. Question was that do i need to pay full fees for all my family members or just for my self as i dont have any plan to take them with me at this stage, thats why i quote example of my Uncle as well. Hope you are clear to my Question. Will be waiting for positive reply.

J...

jawadahmad77,

You need to pay only your fees and the accompanying dependents' fees now, not for your whole family. The fees instructions state that clearly. This has also been discussed elsewhere on this board. Please search for it.

Yes,

Thats what i am trying to say, that i just need to pay my fees only, as they are not coming with me right now. Later on i can ask for my wife and kid and then i will pay for them. Its also mentioned in their guidance kit. I need to just pay 550$ for me but must have to mention my family (wife and kid) details weather they are coming with me or not.

Regards,

J...
