Is it true that the processing time for study permits have been reduced as of yesterday as per the IRCC website

India - 14 weeks
UAE - 13 weeks

does anyone know the reason behind this huge drop.

Fingers crossed that all applicants that are waiting get thru successfully now.

Processing times aren't accurate.

The calculation of this was always based on historical numbers. Due to lockdown the processing times got inflated artificially and is slowly coming back to normal times now.

I would say a new bait to cover their tracks so that they can attract more people.

They have massive backlogs and even then they are handing out rejections at a bulk rate. Wonder why they would want to mislead with the way things are moving ?

Thanks for posting this. Apart from reality and surprises, it is soothing to see the weeks reducing dramatically. Of course, people experienced with Canadian immigration know exactly what this change means. On the road towards hope.

It's just getting crazier due to COVID-19. Sometimes as an applicant one must take responsibility before applying instead of naively following the herd, whining and following the the path of false hope (uncertainty).

They have nobody left to send in due to varying COVID-19 stances, if processing times were accurate every SDS applicant would had received their decision in 20 days.
