Hi friends, I did landing and got PR card in October last year (2017) and came back to US (where I work and live). My passport (Indian) expired in April this year and I got a new Passport. In my CIC online Profile I see my old passport number is there, so my question is - do I need to change anything (passport number etc.) in the CIC records/system? if yes how to do that, do I need to send an email to CIC? please advise. Thanks a lot.

If you have PR card with you, that is enough.

Thanks a lot. I have another question - though I landed and came back on the same day (9th october, 2017) and have been living on the US ever since - do I still need to pay taxes and file tax returns in Canada? I am reading different things in different places. Thanks.

I don't think so.

If you are not earning in Canada, you do not need to pay taxes.
