Hello all. I am new to this forum and have a question about passports. We have done medicals and awaiting PPR. However, my husband who is the principal applicant's passport will expire in April. My country is issuing new e passports so no more passport renewals and you can only apply for a new passport which will mean a new passport number different from what was submitted to the New York visa office. He will get a new passport in February. How do we inform the NY visa office of this. I know they want us to have passports that are valid for at least one year from medicals. Please advise me on how to proceed. Thank you in advance.

i also renewed my kid's passport after Medical was done & still waiting for my PPR... I will just submit the new e passport once I receive PPR. I didnt inform CIC of the new passport I will just send it once requested. Apply or renew now while waiting for the PPR. Dont surrender/cancel yet your old passport just wait for d new one before canceling it. CIC prefer d new or e passport than the green old one.

You need to submit the new passports with no worries, provided that the same bio data are identical in both passports. You can attach a letter indicating that the old passports had expired

Cheers

Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it. Cheers!

No worries to all of you. I have the same issue. my passport was expired after i did my medical and i issued new electricnic one and my consultant took copy to send to CHC for update. but after i will get the PPR ( God's will ) i will send them the new passport along with a copy from the old passport . that is all.

The importandt thing is the new passport should have all the same information as the old one. ( I mean no changes in names...etc).

Perfectly said from a real experience. Thanks khebra.
