Hello,

I have received a new passport for my son because the old one was about to expire. The passport copies and the passport number in the application is of the old one. How should I inform the VO about the new passport. Do i also have to send the copies of the new passport as well??

I status is "IN Process" I am waiting for PPR
Any Idea???

Hi skMarch31,

You have to update the new passport information with CPP-Ottawa as soon as you can. Just send them an email with a scanned copy of your son's new passport. Below is the email address that you need to send it to. Since you are waiting for your PPR, do it as quick as possible, because the passport number will be printed on the COPR document.

OttPilot-immigration@cic.gc.ca

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks Sarayu.. I will send an email today it self. Thanks Again

I think there won't be a problem sending them both passports when that time comes. I was in the same situation and had to renew my daughter's passport (US citizen). They can not issue a Visa until they receive the passports and obviously they know that passports nearing expiry dates (less than six months) have to be renewed. When I talked to my rep about the approaching expiry date, she advised me to have it renewed soon.

I agree..If the Passport no is different then I would advise you to contact CIC's helpline and confirm with them what needs to be done. You can do it both ways, either just send the scanned copies of your new passport to CIC if you do not want to take any chances or wait for them to send you PPR request, then send them your new passport along with the expired passport so that they know that it had expired. It's not issue.
