As of 22 Dec 2014 -

Effective December 22, 2014, eligible spouses or common-law partners have the opportunity to work in Canada while they wait for their application for permanent residence to be processed.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will issue open work permits to certain spouses or common-law partners who are applying for permanent residence from inside Canada, before the approval in principle decision on their application is made.

Isn't this great?!
It's written that they will process the permit within 4 months..
Has anybody got more info on this?
Has anybody applied under this change?

What exactly is the link for this open work permit application?

Also, away from the topic- Does my spouse need a police clearance from another country if he lived there 2 weeks short of 6 months?

i would suggest doing some research on this forum as there are many many many threads already dedicated to this new program and the inland threads have a lot of updates regarding submitting the application. there really is not any need for a new thread to be dedicated to this when everyone already knows about it's existence.

i'm sure if you scan the forums 1st and 2nd page, you will see many topics already started about it...

okay, just a quick question,
is this applicable for applications processed outside canada as well?

no, it's only for inland applicants.

okay, thank you

You applied outland through ND - so this rule doesn't apply to you.
