Hi, my sister is applying for a TRV to visit me in Canada for family support. I am due next year with my second child and I have sent her invitation letter to visit me for support. She is using IRCC new portal to submit the application. However, in documents section there is only limited options for documents to submit. Even in additional documents section, we can add just one file. now how do I submit supporting documents like relationship proof, family pictures, cover letter, my passport, proof of residency, host bank statement, her family ties back home. where and how she can submit all these documents? Please guide.

Merge it into one document. Why does she need to apply with family pictures, proof of residency and your passport. If your sister then in invitation letter state your relationship, address, status in Canada and reason for visit. For ties she includes her job letter with approved leave. She show that she has enough cash in the bank to support herself. You can provide bank statement but IRCC may not consider it.

Is she single or has children? How long is visit? What does "family support" mean? Say she is coming to visit and meet niece and nephew for first time.

Thank you for detailed response. My proof of residency is provide her accommodation since I am inviting her. My passport is basically a host passport to prove my Canadian status as part of application. I am now working on one document to submit all the supporting documents in one file.

"She show that she has enough cash in the bank to support herself. You can provide bank statement but IRCC may not consider it." - What does it mean that IRCC might not consider it?

She is married, 47 years old. Children aged 23, 19 and 15 lives with her in Pakistan. Eldest daughter, 25 years old is married and she has recently visited her daughter to Hong kong for support during her during childbirth.

"Say she is coming to visit and meet niece and nephew for first time." - I can say that - thank you for this suggestion. Though she isn't meeting nephew for the first time as I have visited her in 2023 with my son. But I can work around the words to say something like she's coming to support me during my second child birth and help care for my toddler? Does that make sense?

Do not mention care or support just visit family members. To IRCC caring for your toddler is considered work. Your invitation letter can include your address and where you live as well as passport number.

She show that she has ties to return so job letter with approved leave, business, income property. IRCC wants to know that she can support her own visit and not rely on family. She shows cash in the bank. You can provide bank statements but IRCC wants to see that she has the money.

Also, there is no option to submit Family Information Form (IMM 5645)? Which section should this form be submitted on the portal?

Makes sense. I will mention family visit and not support. So you basically suggest I do not mention caring for my toddler - that makes sense too. I will change my language in the letter.

She does not work and has been a homemaker ever since she has been married. Her husband supports her but she has her personal savings too. Does financial support letter from her husband makes sense? I will also submit my bank statement and i will mention that we will share the cost - she pays for her airfare and personal expenses and i will provide accommodation and local support.

Her husband's personal bank statements can be included as well as her own.
