New immigrants are required to arrive in Canada with sufficient funds to cover the costs of their settlement and living expenses for at least the first few months of arriving in Canada. For a single person this means you must arrive in Canada with savings of at least $13,000 to cover your living expenses. You're expected to use up these savings before applying for benefits. For disability benefit, you should assume it will take several months before you may qualify for coverage since there is an assessment process. This also isn't very much money and will not allow you to have a good life in Canada.

how much is disability benefit

The amount depends on a number of factors including the province where you are living. You'll need to research the amount based on your specific circumstances.

Would add that you may not qualify for disability. If you qualified to immigrate there is a very good chance you do not qualify for disability. Disability payments usually allows you to just survive. No extras and maybe not even the basics. Many areas of BC will be too expensive to live on disability unless you live in a shared home or rooming house. You will need to marry your partner or live together for a year before she can attempt to sponsor you. Is she working? Have you been working? Sponsorships are not guaranteed. If there are concerns that you will arrive and claim disability there is a good chance you will be denied. If there is any concern that about your relationship you’ll be denied.
