Not sure where to have posted this but please do move if I am in wrong place thanks.

Hello to everyone here my name is Jas, and I am so glad I have found this place phew!!

Ok so this is going to be long so please be kind to me :)I am looking for direct and professional answers

Background Information

I am form the UK born and bread here and I am a recent IT graduate currently working for Ericsson telecommunications for around a year. My wife is a biomedical Scientist and has been working in here role for 4 years now.

Future

We are looking to immigrate to Canada and are looking to be in Canada for 2011 (3years away). I have nearly all my family there and I want to be with them since they are the only family I have, also I love the country we visit every year and its amazing.

Now on to the answers I need.

We have a few choices the SW which we passed with a score of 76 which is great and the PNP route. We want to move to British Columbia (Vancouver)

But we are not sure what route to take? Should we apply for the SW now? Or should we wait for 2010 and then apply for PNP?
What would be the best option? Or could we apply or SW now and just see what happens?

Job Advice.

My wife will be the lead applicant because she has a higher profile job and more work experience. We have no debts which is good and no other issues holding us back, so we want to start to gather some information and also are considering getting a immigration lawyer.

Can anyone direct me to any good scientist websites for my wife to look at or any biomedical job sites please?

All advice is welcome thanks….. waiting to hear from you guys

Don't get impatient now. We just woke up here in Canada :)

The rules for the SW program are changing and new rules are expected to be posted before xmas. If you still qualify, you could apply and see what happens. If the new applications are being processed too fast for you, all you have to do it come to Canada and "land" within your time limit and then you can go back to the UK and finish what you want to finish. As a PR, you can be outside of Canada for up to 3 years in a 5 year period without losing it.

Otherwise, you can visit your family, hunt for job offers and do PNP. Or get in on a temporary work permit and do PNP later after you are here.

hehe thanks dude...

I forget sometime to look at the time difference lol

Thanks for the advice thats great help..

You got any good job related websites for biomedical scientists or technologist,
Or any specific IT related jobsites.

Thanks

all other advice is welcome too..

You can try Canada job bank at http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/ They have pretty much of everything. You can try also http://www.eluta.ca/ and http://www.monster.ca/ and http://www.workopolis.com/

It's hard to get a job though without being there and being able to interview but you can use it to see if you have good opportunities.
