I am a Pre 28th June 2010 Applicant , 0111 , VO ND.

1st AOR from CIO has a file number starting with 'BXXXXXX'

My full documents was sent on Oct 20th to VO ND and the same delivered on Oct 21st.

2nd AOR from VO ND, dated 26th Nov has a UCI and a New File no. starting with 'EXXXXXX'

Some of the forum members who sent their documents to VO , ND around the same time as me have received their 2nd AOR too, but the file no remains the same as CIO ?

Can seniors please tell me why this is so (same VO, Same month, File No starting with different alphabets) or is it an error ?

Thanks

File number does not remain the same. New file number is alloted by visa office.

Hi, I thought the same until now.

I have been following the thread for full documents sent to ND in OCt-Nov-Dec and some of then have got the same old CIO number as their file number in 2nd AOR. Hence my query !

Please refer this sheet

They did not feel appropriate to change it here on that spread sheet. It always changes.

they very clearly say in their posts on the thread that, 2nd aor des not contain a new file no, its the same cio no. 'BXXXXXXXX' . thats why i presume its not about updating the spreadsheet

For some reason I think u r mixing-up the pre-June26 with the post-June26 cases.

As I understand, from June 26, the 2nd AOR system has been dispensed with. Currently there's just one AOR (and One File No.), 'coz the points eligibility is being done at the CIO end. Pls see the difference between the previous & the current AORs:

Previous AOR: "Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application is being recommended to the visa office for a final determination of eligibility for processing".

Current AOR: "Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing".

This shows that nowadays the "eligibility decision" is done at CIO, while the VOs continue with the b/g & Security Checks, rather than what used to be earlier (CIO did an initial documentary check and forwarded the file to the CHCs for their eligibility checks). Thus, there was the need of another AOR & a new File No. -Not now anymore.

Hi Qorax, Thanks for the reply. I think I have not misunderstood anything, Let me try and explain

I quote from the profile/information of some of the forum members here.

Srid_a Application to CIO 14th June . 2nd AOR has the CIO file ref staring in 'B', no new file ref no from VO, ND

pdtv7425 Application to CIO 1st June . 2nd AOR has the CIO file ref staring in 'B', no new file ref no from VO, ND

toenjoy Application to CIO 13th May . 2nd AOR has the CIO file ref staring in 'B', no new file ref no from VO, ND

The rest of us so far have received new file no from the same VO, begining with 'EXXXXXXX'

Regards

Maran

Re: New File No. - I have some doubts..Seniors (QORAX..) Pls..q

Dear qorax, What maran says is correct. We applied before the NOC change and got the 2nd AOR recently (including the RPRF receipt), but with the same numbers sent by CIO.

Do you think they'll (VO) subsequently create new numbers for us?

To add to that (well explained by Qorax!). Out of the 3 phases of application process, the first 2 (Completeness Check & Eligibility Review) are being done at CIO, Sydney. However Step-3, 'Selection and Admissibility' checks will be done at Visa Office for post 26 June applicants.
So effectively only Step-2, 'Eligibility Review'- Qualification under 1 of the 2 Ministerial Instructions is checked (29 NOC with 1 year of experience or AEO in any NOC) at CIO.
This implies that processing times at Visa Office will reduce by 2-3 months by elimination of the 2nd stage of the process. So hopefully post 26 June applicants can hope to get a decision in 6-9 months from File Transfer as compared to the earlier 9-14 months being experienced by post 28 Feb. applicants.

I guess some of the borderline applicants also r viewed under the same system as updated since June 26, 2010. That's how many of the "just near" dated files continue to carry the "one-&-only" File No. Purely my opinion, 'coz the system is yet new & no cognizable action/s have occurred lately to fathom anything.

Guys, with your 2nd AOR despatched - & containing the same File Nos., as Yukon rightly opined, I don't think u'd receive any other File No.

Qorax

Dear friends,

Can anyone get medical request from CIC after receiving your new file number starting with "EXXXXXX"? Secondly, with new file , can we check the status or use our old number?

Regards,

I received my new file no last July 2010, its dif from the first one but still start with the Bxxxxxx. Until now my online status is still the same, received by VO, London and its been 5 mos now. I wish they can expedite the processing time...

hi all, i am also in the same boat as to the rest of you, I just received my 2nd AOR with the same numbers from the 1st AOR. I thought there was an error so i right away emailed FES. As we speak theres no reply yet from CEM

and to add that, when i compared my friend's AOR to mine- the CEM mentioned to contact them if exceeding 90 days but in my latest AOR they said that i have to wait for 6 months before contacting them
