New background checking with US database?

I just wondered what other peoples opinions of the new database checking that is being set up as well as the fingerprinting?

I can see them both as a plus and at the same time a hindrance...

The applications already take far too long for most countries, but I agree with the safety aspects....

I'd say penny for your thoughts, but I had to save my pennies for CIC...lol

I'm in favor of fingerprinting. I have nothing to hide - in fact I'm already in the FBI database as a bank employee.

It will definitely add an extra layer to the processing of applications. It is starting with sharing of biographic information in 2013 and biometric sharing will start in 2014. Hope both Canada and USA will also provide additional resources to handle the increased work load.
