Dear Friends,

I am from Pakistan and currently working in Saudi. I would like to immigrate to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Class. I came across the NOC list and found my occupation present in that list in which I am working since last 2 and a half years.

While reviewing the application forms and guides section on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp website following statement was written on this website:

"Applications from skilled workers with evidence of one year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in the last ten years in at least one of the National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes (and not combined partial year experience in multiple NOCs) specified in the Ministerial Instructions, up to a maximum of 20,000 new, complete applications per year with no more than 5% (1,000 applications) of this maximum in any one NOC category;"

I would appreciate if anybody can explain me the part of the statement which says "up to a maximum of 20,000 new, complete applications per year with no more than 5% (1,000 applications) of this maximum in any one NOC category;"

Thanks,

Would realli appreciate if any one of you can respond with your vast experiences.

Thanks

They will only accept 20000 applications per year.
They will only accept 1000 application per NOC per year.

So if you are within 20000 but out of 1000 then you are OUT

If you are within 1000 but out of 20000, you are also OUT

Your Application should be within 1000 applications of your NOC as well as within 20000 of all applications per year.

Is there anyother way to increase the chances of being selected?

Because this seems very absurd as the huge volume of applications recieved by CIO.

Pls Reply.
