Hi there,

I got my study permit/work permit since last year but did not begin studies in September due to study permit being approved very late.I have been staying home before coronavirus came and now govt is saying students with permits should work,my question is in my case can i start work now? Or should i wait until i begin studies online in fall? I don`t want to do things on my own without following the golden rules. Please i need your advice.

I believe the only change the government made is for students who are working in essential services. They can now work more than 20 hours weekly.

I don’t think you should work since you have not started school yet. But that’s just my undeestanding of it.

No, you aren't allowed to work.

Have you been in Canada on a study permit for 9 months without actually studying?
