I got accepted as a convention refugee on dec 2012
I have been landed as Permanent Resident on february 2015
Since then i never been to my home country my grandfather is really sick ,i lost my father when i was kid , i want to see my grand father before he pass away , is there any way i can go to my country back just for a week to see him ??????

I'm so sorry about this.

I can't tell you what to do, but if you go back you may be at risk for cessation of your refugee status and PR status and be deported because you "re-availed" yourself of the protection of the government you sought refuge from.

Do not step on a plane, and do not use your old passport unless you have discussed it extensively with a good refugee lawyer first and you really understand the future risks of being deported from Canada if you return, even for a short visit.

Are you in Toronto? If so, contact the Refugee law office ASAP.

Also, your family loves you. Your grandfather loves you and has worked to keep you safe for a long time. Your family misses you, but they would want you to be safe and wouldn't want you to sacrifice your future in Canada.

If you're going to risk deportation, be sure you really understand the risk as much as possible. Don't just jump on a plane.

Good luck and I'm sorry.
