Need your opinion for asylum. Please

Hello a friend of mine has problem in Turkey. Let me tell you shortly story.

My friend who own a hotel in Turkey. He has best friend from Israel and once they made video together for fun. In the video there is a part that : Israeli guy said-''I like Turks'' and my friend said : ''Thanks . I like Israeli people ''
The guy who recording video asked : ''What ? Are you sure that you like Jewish? ''
mf : ''Yes. I like anyone in the world if they are good to me''

Anyway they posted video in friends page. Somehow this video got views and shared in some groups in social media with a title :'' I love Israel - Turkish men love Israel''

People comment with very bad words.

Then my friend made a video himself and explain what he said : I meant political things are not my problem . I do tourism business . I never meet any bad one . We are nice to each other. I love any people from any countryetc. Im in this region and everyone knows me ,i can't be racist...

He thought that video will help him but some people keep showng reaction to him. ''How can you like people who kills Muslims( Palestine)''. He recieved some death threats but he didnt take serious. He just went police and said im recieving deadt threats.

Later people found him because in the videos it shows where is his place. They shout on him. Later they broke his windows. They call him. They sent messages. Not stopped. Police didn't/couldn't do anything. This situation even posted in a local newspaper. Finally he escaped. Now he is with me Im hiding him.

I have questions. If you answer them I will be thankful to you.

1- Can he apply as asylum in Canada? he already has usa and canada tourist visa.
2- What is chance for him to be accepted. Because it is not a political issue.
3-If accepted then how long it would take. Because he has wife and a child. Later he must take them after approved.
4- As he has Usa visa can he apply in Usa ? if so which one will be answered faster.

1. He can certainly apply for asylum - whether he's approved is a different matter.
2. None of us here can tell you what the chances are of being approved. I would guess the chances of approval are likely on the lower side since IRCC may feel this is a local police matter and he can relocate to another part of Turkey.
3. It will take approximately 3 years.
4. I would recommend you post this question to a US immigration forum.

2. None of us here can tell you what the chances are of being approved. I would guess the chances of approval are likely on the lower side since IRCC may feel this is a local police matter and he can relocate to another part of Turkey.

Just a note : Because it has been sharing in social media situatiun is same in anywhere in Turkey. Still no enough police reports,newspaper.
I am very surprised. I heard people accepted with less dangerous situation.
