Hi all, I'm new to this forum ( In fact, I've just registered). I am a 17 and a half y/o male living in Lebanon. I always dreamed of living in Canada. ow in my final year in high school reality kicked in. My family's income is average, and I already have a sister in college LAU (Lebanese american University- 13 000$/year One of the best in the country). I informed my parents about the colleges I wished to attend, but they said it was out of the question and too expensive. I have googled the cheapest universities in Canada for international students and found:
- MUN: almost 17 000 Canadian $---- without accommodation almost 10 500 Canadian $

My parents are willing to send me to a university in my country (Lebanon), but they think that studying in Canada is a waste of their money ( They believe that universities in Lebanon offer the same or even better post-secondary education than Canada)

The accommodation prices are really frustrating and I am willing to share an apartment off campus ( even the smallest)
I am a hard worker, I got a summer job at the age of (14 till 17) while my friends partied and went to the beach. I worked in a warehouse for 8.5 hours a day for 18$ per day.
I really prefer living under pressure and studying under pressure.

I have relatives in Canada, but they are unable to sponsor me ( immigration), nor can they afford me living with them :(

I am REALLY INTERESTED IN STUDENT LOANS

Btw I want to get into Finance and/or management
My questions are :
1- Can I work for 1 or 2 years in my country after I graduate high school ( earn money for college), and still be legible for admissions for universities in Canada?
2- What are the Cheapest, and I mean cheeeaaaapest universities in Canada for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?
3- Can I still apply for a student visa after 1-2 years of graduating from high school?
4- Can I take a student loan without having to pay anything, and I mean anything for tuition? Of course I will pay my debts after graduating... ( I know)
5- Should I just give up and study in my country or is it much more rewarding to study in Canada?
6- Can I get a job off-campus after directly arriving to Canada?
7- Is going to a university in Canada going to help me and speed up my quest of perminant residency in Canda?
8- Should I study and get a job (experience) in my country, and then apply for a visa??? ( What are my chances of getting accepted )
9- WHAT ARE THE BEST CHANCES AND CHOICES FOR ME TO GO TO CANADA?

I am so sorry for this long post, but as you see I am really out of options.

I will certainly stick around on this forum, please don't hesitate on contacting me if you want.

Your help is very appreciated.

I'll help with some of your questions.

1 - Yes, you can still apply.
3 - Yes, you can still apply.
6 - No, you can't. Depending on what school you attend, you will either have to complete six months of studies before you qualify for an off campus work permit or you won't qualify for an off campus work permit at all.
7 - Yes
8 - Impossible to say what your chances are of being accepted. The critiria change regularly.

my advise is to stay in your home country and continue your education with working part time.....whenever you are sound enough to pay for everything in canada then try for it.......

these countries like canada are pretty the same as your home country with some advantages which you ve got to pay first, nobody is giving you the magic to sort out all of your problems once you're in canada!! it'll only add on more problems
