Hello,
I am confused and seek your advice for bringing my husband in Canada.

I am working in Canada from last two years on Work Permit as an IT professional. My husband is also an IT professional and is working in India. We both want to settle down in Canada, for that he needs to come here and find a job in Canada.

We have decided the following for us after getting limited info from different people:

1. I will apply for a PR for both in a couple of month. (Say in November as I am still short of some documents). My current WP expires on June 2013.

2. Then I will apply for my husband's "Visitor Record" to bring him in Canada. (In the month of November, I cannot apply now as I am waiting for Marriage Certificate)

3. He will come to Canada (sometimes in Jan 2014 on Loss of Pay with Indian Employer) and then we will apply for his Open Work Permit. (which will be take 2-3 months processing time and will be valid till June 2013 like mine).

4. He will search for an IT job here in Canada. (Getting a job on a OWP expiring in next 2-3 months would be difficult!)

5. Once my PR gets approved (i.e. I get a tracking number) I will apply for a Bridging Work Permit for myself (sometime in the month of Feb/Mar 2014)

My question is once I get my Bridging Work Permit, what kind of Work Permit my husband has to apply for being able to work in Canada? Can we apply this Bridging Work Permit for him also as a primary applicant or as a dependent?
Do you suggest any better way for him to come and work in Canada so that his career would not be put at stake.

Request you to please provide your valuable suggestions, and help us to walk the painful road ahead.

Thanks in advance!
