Does the immigration ask to see the LOA at the port of entry?

They may ask to see it, yes. The immigration officer at the Port of Entry asked to see my Passport with the TRV and My Letter of Acceptance. She also asked me a few questions about my program, the subjects I'm taking, and why I chose Canada. We had a polite conversation about it for a few minutes, while she was printing my study permit. .

I believe you must show it because it's the document they use as a reference to issue your Study Permit.
