Hello Everyone.
I became a permanent resident sucessfully in September 2011. (Did my landing, as I got my PR through Saskatchewan PNP). I remember making a huge mistake. At the time of landing, (When the immigration office asked me my address where to send the PR card), I asked him politely whether its possible to send it to a address in Toronto? He got a bit freaked out and asked me whether I DONT plan to stay/settle in Saskatchewan? (as I got the pr through SINP). I told him that the reason I dont wanna give my current address is becuase I was planning to move next month (as I was having problems with the landlord). So I dont want my PR card to get lost (as it takes around 2 months to come). (I didnt actually told him all this- problems with the landlord and stuff). But then he got a bit suspicious, and went inside, put some note in computer and came out and told me that he need a Saskatchewan address for the PR card. So I gave him my current address.
Then after a month, I shifted to a different address. And I tried updating the address online at CIC many times, but failed. I even tried calling their call centres but even they didn't changed it (even after getting reassurance from them). So as a result, the card was dispatched to my old address (on which I was having trouble with landlord. The one which I gave to the officer at the time of landing). But I did a smart move and retrieved my card directly from the Canada Post distribution office before it went on the hands of my old landloard (who am sure would have thrown it).
Now the thing is that, If in case I recieve any notification letter from CIC (any form of communication), I am not sure which address will they be sending at?? I tried checking my address on file (where it used to be on the cic website application status, by entering my UCI, Client ID etc) but it shows nothing (specially becuase over 1.5 years have passed). So I have two major questions:
1. How do I know which communication address does CIC has on file? Lets say if they send me any warning letters or notifications (like PR Obligation warnings, or anything else) which address will they be directing to? (As I have moved to several new places after that).
2. If CIC wishes to communicate, do they also do so through email of the applicant they have on file?
Hope to hear some advice on this.
