Hi there! Thank you so much for viewing my thread - I'll appreciate any advice I can get :)
I'm a recent fresh graduate from Singapore and received a honours degree in Chemical Engineering (2 year program, because I came from a vocational college) and I have no prior experience working in the related field (except a 6 week internship and a 1 month long internship in England).

I am aware that Chemical Engineers are listed in the SKills shortage list, and I was wondering:

(1) If I manage to get an employment offer from a company in Winnipeg, will my application process be expedited? How long will it take to process my application?
(2) Does my job offer have to be "Chemical Engineer" or can it be something that a Chemical Engineer can do (i.e related fields of work) and still be counted in the skills shortage?
(3) If I opt to work as a trainee with a minimum wage (to gain canadian work experience), can I still apply under the skilled worker immigration?
(4) Lastly, will I be considered for a Skilled worker immigration/PR card without a employment offer presently at hand? What are my chances? And how long will the whole process take me?

Just a few things probably needed to evaluate my chances:

I'm 22 this year, no criminal background/health issues perfectly healthy, trilingual (English, Chinese, Spanish). I do have a boyfriend living in Winnipeg. I do hope to join him, but my main purpose of moving out of SIngapore is not solely based on being with him. We are probably going to get engaged, but I'm not going to apply for a PR card through the spouse program. I believe in my own capabilities to get there on my own without his help (I am quite proud..)

I was thinking of getting a PR by doing and completing a masters program in Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, I heard that PR cards are awarded to students who complete "certain" masters program with a good score?

Again, thank you SO much for your time, any advice/help is greatly appreciated.

To qualify to apply for PR through the Federal Skilled Worker program, you must have at least one year of continuous and paid work experience. So at this time you don't qualify to apply for PR through the FSW program.
