Just about to print all our forms and get all the supporting documents together – when I realized something scary:

It seems we need to include the Sponsored Person's ID documents and Passport as part of the supporting documents for our Outland PR sponsorship package.

This is going to be a problem because she is flying back home to Argentina this week, and I am staying back in Canada for a few weeks to finish up the application.

So: do we need to somehow get her passport and give it in with our PR sponsorship package? If so, when and how do we get that back? (I may be away with her temporarily in Argentina, although we live common law here in Canada for past 16 months.)

I just included photocopies - I am pretty sure it states copies of these documents (but certified copies, and translations if needed).

Original of medical certificate form from doctor, and police certificate needs to be an original

You should only need photocopies of those at this point. What part of the guide are you reading that's saying you have to send originals? I'm not familiar with the country specific instructions for Argentina.

Are you sure the passport needs to be a certified copy, as opposed to simply a scan?

Just passport copy

Hmmm. I know that it was a requirement because of the translating and such, but it should say in your regional guide, as well as within the first few pages of the sponsor and immigrant guide. There is a whole piece there about certified copies and translations and such. I would double check in both of those areas.

Thanks everyone -- once again very helpful!
