a band score of 6.5 may not necessarily mean 10 points. it could be higher. what are your score on each of the 4 modules?

Thanks for your inputs friends.
Here is the breakdown of my score:

Reading :6.0
Writing :6.0
Speaking :6.5
Listening :6.5
Overall Band :6.5

hope this helps

Tom, you can easily get to 12 points, by improving in Reading & Writing. You need to score 6.5 in any one of these to get to the 12 points.

Google 'Free IELTS Preparation' and you will find plenty of material.

Also CanadaVisa.com has some free tests available here http://www.canadavisa.com/ielts/free-practice-tests.html

I hope this helps.

HI Tom dick...
i can only advice you that writing module is that part in which we can get more point .in this part when you finish up your writing, try to save some time to recheck whatever you write. Recheck it and find grammetical mistakes. by using this trick you will definatly improve your score.

thanks
