We had our medical in March 11, 2009 as were yours so what happened with your file?

We are still waiting

Your Dad's PR doesn't have any impact on you application. For study permit there are number of things which visa officer take into consideration. Just having money in account doesn't guarantee visa, there are some students with all first year fee paid with residence paid and $100,000 in their parents account has been rejected, some students have been rejected on full scholarship. So, school results count a small portion toward your visa, as embassy just want to look how a student in performing in his home country, your CGPA is low as majority of Good uni's application requirements are CGPA 3.0 min that doesn't guarantee admission, normally for good programs the CGPA requirement is high as far I know when I applied for my PhD, all the uni's I choose had requirement Canadian 80% which is around 3.7, I have 3.9 from one of the top institute in world but still was declined admission in UBC, got in to UWO, Toronto, Waterloo. Metric and Intermediate has low impact on your admission. So, with this CGPA you are talking about a very low ranked university, with no funding in that case you have make your case too strong e.g. wife working in Pakistan, so she can afford her self without my help, then strong financial background for your self plus your current job will have a big impact on your case if you are not in a good position it can harm, try to choose a course combination not offered in Pakistan. I am from ISB pak, of you want any thing just PM me. Good luck

hi, you can look for Thomson Rivers University,

http://www.douglas.bc.ca/calendar/programs/phorm.html

The average fees is CAD 5,000 (depends on course you will have 2-3 terms per annum) per term, then you have to add CAD 10,000 for your self and 8,000 for your husband and son living. So the range is 29,000-35,000 per annum. You will need to prove English proficiency as your last degrees are from english speaking country then you are exempted. It's not easy to get visa on basis of community colleges, some of them don't accept international students and choosing colleges can weak your case as there are number of colleges and universities offer diploma's and degrees in Hotel Management. Check for Resort Management which is same as hotel but little different and is not offered in Pakistan.

This was very helpful. Thanks.. One last thing, do u think i must opt for univ? Should i include a letter with my application stating my purpose of doing this diploma?

Universities are better as they have two years program some with co-op, after completing program you can apply for post-study work permit (if public university or in case of private university you have to check some details mentioned on CIC web). Co-op option can help you a lot. So, I will say uni's are much better compared to college and for these type of diploma I don't think they will ask for Statement of purpose. The SOP thing is for very competitive program which received a lot of quality applications with low number of places.
