Hi, i am getting married this december back home and planning to sponsor my husband by april 2016. I heard we can call our spouse in visitors visa and do the processing here itself. Im just confused whether to apply for sponsorship directly or go for visitors visa then go for sponsoring?
How long does it take to get visitors visa and how long will it be valid? is it sure that we get the visitors visa?
M not sure which way is better.
Its just been a year n few months that ive been in canada as a PR and im currently working full time.

Thanks :)

Your husband can certainly apply for a visitor visa - however there is no guarantee that it will be approved. Unfortunately the refusal rates are quite high for people in your situation.

If the visitor visa is refused you'll have to sponsor him using the outland process. Since you are a PR, you will need to be living in Canada in order to sponsor him (you cannot sponsor him while outside of Canada).

Thanks.
What if the visitors visa is denied. Does that hamper my sponsoring?
And if he is getting the visitors visa, is it okay to apply for sponsoring rt away or after the visitors visa has expired?

:)

If he gets a visitor's visa, you can send in the PR application while the visitor's visa is still in effect.

Applying for many TRVs and having them denied will affect the processing of the PR application. Just one will probably have no effect. If he is denied, just make sure to state on the PR application that he was applying for a TRV to come here to visit you.
