Need some infos please!

Hi,

My vietnamese husband and I (canadian citizen) are preparing the package for his permanent residency to Quebec.
I have a few questions and couldn`t find my answer on internet:

a) How long are the documents required valid for? do they have an expiring date? (for example, my husband`s birth certificate, was translated in vietnamese at the end of the year 2011)... is there a limit for that? Can anyone give me a link about this? if theres one, i couldnt find it!

b) As a way to prove that our relationship is legit, we are including our wedding certificate, wedding photos, photos of travels and various things we did together, letters from family and friends... (and all other documents such as house contrat, wedding certificate, etc.) We even have names and personal infos (written like a of "form") of people who know that we live together and are in a genuine relationship (they attest that our relationship is a loving an legit one by writing down names and providing all personal infos...) ... is it relevant to include the wedding cards (they dont contain any musical thingy or electronic devices) that we received from friends and family? We had a lot of money enveloppes with the names written on (common in vietnamese weddings) but we do have a few nice handwritten cards (about 15) from friends and family members... should we?

c)can anyone recommend a translator based in Hanoi, Vietnam? either for french or english (is one of these languages cheaper than the other ?)

d) as a way to prove our relationship, i plan to include all the skype, facebook, email conversations i could find on my computer (that broke numerous times!)... ive copied and pasted all the conversation, in the tiniest format possible... and i have approximately 1000 pages! do i REALLY need to include all of that? or should I just cut down some of the content (boring stuff like: "don`t forget to buy milk on the way home"... and stuff like that?)

a) as far as i know there translated documents don't expire.

b) yes include as much as you can, but don't submit originals as VO may not return them, you may scan them and then print them on a colour printer.

c) can't recommend, for translation you should provide and affidavit and a certified copy (if you are not submitting the original translation) and , certified translators in Canada do not require affidavits.

d) NO one will ever read 1000 pages of skype and facebook , try to copy the most important conversations that proves that your relationship was continuing. Remove all the non sense and keep the important lines.

A few suggestions...

The amount of chat logs and stuff you need to include, depends on what kind and how long your relationship has been. If you guys met, had a long distance relationship, and then got married, then communication during the "dating" time is essential. So you should include several snapshots of chats/skype/emails etc from various points during this time (but 1000 pages is still overkill and not needed). Some people choose a couple of chat logs from each month of the relationship to include.

However if you guys were living together a long time, or have been married several years already... proof of communication is not as important. Though the fact you have so many chat logs tells me this is most likely not the case!

Finally in addition to the picture and letter proofs, you should also include some financial proofs such as:
- joint bank accounts or credit cards
- joint lease/mortgage/car loan
- life insurance with each other listed as primary beneficiary
- your change in status with CRA from single to married.

One thing my fiance and I are doing, is we're talking webcam Skype everyday and morning. Just before we sign off, I take a pic of my screen, which shows her face, and mine, as well as the date/time, and length of the video chat.

I save the morning and evening webcam chats everyday, and save them onto my computer, and when I submit my application, I will show the VO as much as I can. It's great, because everyday, we're both wearing different clothes, with the date/time visible on the bottom right of my desktop, as well as the length of time we chat, I think it's an excellent way to prove constant communication.

your package is very good but dont over do , the cic will be looking for the main point and if happen you have beencall for an interview you will have to remind all what you send to them date paces and so on, so be careful. The main thing they wil be lookinf for is your intention toi return to canada and why now, and what arre yor ties in canada. hope it would help

I asked my old boss (my last job in Quebec before leaving for vietnam) if he could make a letter attesting that he'd be willing to take me back once i get back to quebec. I think this would prove of my intentions to come back to Quebec? Also, I wanted to ask... My husband and I have been trying to conceive since November 2012. Should we include this in the letter? I am not sure if it would "work" against or for us... Of course, one of the main reasons why we want to go to Quebec is for our family and our future children (better school/health system, less pollution, being close to my family...) but what else should I add?

Back home, I was a HR manager/recruitment specialist for a company that specializes in education. I am a licensed teacher. In vietnam, I have been working as a teacher but my main goal would be to go back to a managing position... This is pretty much impossible here unless you open your own school/kindergarten... Could that be a valid reason?

Any other infos i could get on "reasons why I want to go back to Quebec" would be very helpful.

just take for my example, my wife canadian and i different nationality, stay out of canada for more than 20 years . i explained to them directly without any fuss, only few pages not trying to convince them but show them the reality what they want to hear. kids future, parents want you be near them, miss your country, no more responsibilities in vietnam and so on.
show that you really want to return to canada . get some letters from relatives and yes letters from employers will really help it would show it is not a burden for them

The date should be on the bottom right corner of your desktop, and it should also show the time. I have Windows 7.
