There are several fields in the forms where I'm confused. If anyone can help me, please do! Thanks =]

IMM 5540 'Sponsor Questionnaire' pg 2: When do you plan to return to Canada to resume residency? The answer is "as soon as my family is approved for immigration" but the form only gives room for a day/month/year. What do I put there?

IMM 5540 'Sponsor Questionnaire' pg 4: Past marriage, Length of relationship - Did my relationship start on the day my ex-wife and I started dating, or on the day we got married? In the fields "date of divorce/death, date of separation, and "to" (as in, length of relationship, from ___ "To" ____), that's just all the same date, right?

IMM 5481 'Sponsorship Evaluation' pg 1: Option-C printout - I haven't worked since early 2008 (it's now 2010 of course), so I didn't file taxes in 2009. Do I need an option-C printout? For the curious, I made a lot of money playing poker and have been living off of that, hence no work.

IMM 1344 A 'Application to Sponsor and Undertaking' Pg 1: Marital Status and From-To dates - I was married in the past and got divorced, and am now in a common-law relationship with the woman I want to sponsor to immigrate. Do I check 'divorced', 'common-law', or both? Again, in the from-to dates for my previous marriage, do I give the date we became a couple, or the date we got married? And should the 'to' date be identical to the date of divorce?

IMM 1344 A 'Application to Sponsor and Undertaking' Pg 2: Dependent child 'A B C' - huh? what's this? first, second, third child? some kind of reference to the child's status? If it matters, there is one child, 5 years old, her son from a previous relationship and she has sole custody.

IMM 1344 A 'Application to Sponsor and Undertaking' Pg 3: Non-accompanying family members - do we include her sister in this section? It is possible that in a few years' time, my wife will apply to sponsor said sister to join her in Canada.

IMM 1344 A 'Application to Sponsor and Undertaking' Pg 5: Signature - city/town and province - since I'm currently residing in Thailand with my family, do I list the city and province where we're at? Or the city and province I came from in Canada, where we intend to go back to? It seems obvious that I would write the city/province I'm in; I only ask because some countries don't HAVE provinces, which makes me think that a Canadian city/province is intended for that field.

Thanks so much for your help, and I gotta say, thank goodness this forum exists! Well done David Cohen =)

Hand write ASAP and explain further in your cover letter.

Most relationships don't start on the day you got married and most don't end on the day you get divorced. A divorce often happens a year or more after the relationship has ended so the date of separation is different from the date of the divorce. It's up to you but I would put when the relationship began (dating) and when it ended (separated). You have to include a copy of your divorce certificate.

Yes, you have to provide an option C for at least your last tax year. If you didn't file in 2009, explain why in your cover letter. The option C shows them that you are not in receipt of social assistance and do not have an undischarged bankruptcy.

Current status = common law
Same answer as above.

You are undertaking to sponsor her child as well your common law partner so agreeing to provide for both of them for the length of the undertaking. You must include the child in A (since there is only one).

No, siblings are only included on the Additional Family Information form. Not here. And your wife probably can't sponsor her sister, at least not federally. Some of the provincial nominee programs have those opportunities but it depends on where you will reside in Canada.

Yes, it is "intended" for Canadian city/province but just indicate where you are, i.e. Bangkok, Thailand. Don't worry about "province". As long as you are a citizen, you are allowed to sponsor you partner while you are living outside of Canada as long as you can prove intention to re-settle in Canada as soon as PR of your partner is received.
