Hello. I am applying for PR. I have a child and I am still married, but my husband and I don't live together. Back in my country we don't have a status like "separated". I don't know if he will be asked to take a medical exam as well, or just my child.

How are you applying for PR?

Yes CIC will expect your husband to take a medical test and get all necessary police checks. However if you are separated from your husband, you can request he be permanently left off your application. You may need to sign a declaration that you understand this means he can NEVER be sponsored to Canada by you at a later time. In that case he wouldn't have to do any medical.

Also CIC will most likely want a declaration from your husband that he is ok with you taking your child to Canada permanently.

thank you very much for the quick reply
