Thank you in advance for any input you might have for me. I've been looking up information for a while and could use any help I can get. Basically I am from the United States. I recently married a Canadian woman in October. The marriage was held in the United States and is officially licensed and all that. We did this to get the application started and we are in the process of making sure we have all the information we need. After the marriage, we decided for me to come up to Canada to visit for a couple of weeks. When at the border, the border officer gave me a vistor's record for one year.

I have a few questions

1. From research I have gathered, the vistor's record would become invalid if I left Canada at all. Is this something that is common to get another one of when attempting to re-enter the country or is it sort of a one-time thing and I am unlikely to get another one?
2. We are considering doing an outland application due to time for the decision to be made appears to be shorter and because it isn't likely I can get enough of the information needed for inland such as my name being on her vehicle and rent. If I decided to stay in Canada for a while, is it still smart to do outland?
3. Like I have mentioned, I have a visitor record that allows me to stay in Canada for the time being. Is it possible I can apply for a visa that would allow re-entry to Canada while staying in Canada or is this something that doesn't seem likely? I do have family in the United States that I would like to see but I just want to keep my options open because i don't want to risk being denied at the border.

I feel we have plenty of good proof for our relationship as we have seen each other many times throughout the years so I am not too worried about that part of the application. I mainly just want some help with figuring out the questions I have asked. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
