Ok so, I am an American citizen, going to study in Ontario. My courses start on November 24th 2014, I sent my application just over a month before my courses begin. I assume they received October 27th. (I would have applied earlier but the process of the application without a lawyer can be difficult.) Processing time said 35 days when I sent it off onOctober 23rd. Now the processing times are saying nearly 50 days. So either it is going to be a close call, or they won't finish processing it until a few weeks after my courses start. I also included a letter of urgency for my application to be processed, provided by my school. What can I expect to happen? Will they deny me because I applied a month before school? Any help, advice or opinions will be greatly appreciated as I cannot sleep from this due to stress.

i am not sure if anyone can tell u what will happen.....sometimes they will ask u to deffer ur admission to the next season and not outright deny it.....but cant say .......I thought US citizens can apply at border crossing too that would have been much easier....again i am not sure.....

Yeah you're right I could have applied at the border. But I flew back to Canada with my common law partner and my grandparents who are paying for the tuition, wanted to see a letter of acceptance from the school, before they gave me the tuition money. Then I took a short examination course required for entry to the college, so that I qualified to apply under the new conditions that, someone who completes a short course of study and so on that is required for entry to the school, may apply within Canada. I felt stupid honestly when I read I could have gotten this right at the border but it is what it is, I guess. If I have to try again, i'll be driving to Detroit and back. :)

If they ask me to defer what is the process? Do I just send them a new letter of acceptance or how would that work?

Thanks for your reply buddy. I hope they ask me to defer my studies to January.
