So my soon to be wife is trying to reenter Vancouver BC she has a study permit which ends September 30th and will be coming from Taiwan. The school which we are applying for does not assist students with study permit as the course is 7 weeks so, it is relied on us to figure out her visa on our own. She is planning to get her TESOL Diploma but needs to do an exam which is on August 30th. The school is offering her to apply for the TESOL certificate first so she has an enrollment letter and as the classes are not online we are only going down this path if she is able to get a letter from the school verifying that. As the classes start October 14th we will need to extend her study permit or change her status to visitor. Although, we are unsure if it will cause problems at the border since the school date starts after her visa expires. We are stressing out if we should still do this or just try to get a refund on the plane ticket and push back our plans to get married and for her to do the program. We had been apart since March when she left for her safety one day before quarantine started. As we are unsure if she will be allowed back into Canada at this time. Canada is to vague about if she will make the requirements to reenter. From our own research a huge percentage of students are still getting denied even with the right proof. If she get denied that will push our lives into a spiral so it will be huge appreciation if you guys do not mind giving us some advice what we should do.

Our main question is from your experience will the customs officer reject us as her visa ends before class starts?
From what we have researched to extend her permit or get a Visitor record we need to be in Canada. Is there any workaround at this time so, we do not need to worry about this as she enter?

Any other tips are much appreciated.

There isn't going to be a clear answer to this question. There will be two points in her travel where refusal will be possible depending on whether CBSA deems her travel to be essential. The first is boarding the plane. The second will be once she arrives in Canada.

Her situation is not straight forward which is why you are not going to get a clear cut answer. The only way to avoid any chances of refusal is to avoid traveling now.

Of course she can also certainly try to travel. But she needs to be prepared for the possibility of being turned away. If she wants to try, she must plan to travel at least two weeks before August 30th since she will be required to quarantine for 14 days once she arrives. If she plans to quarantine with you, you will have to quarantine for 14 days as well.
