Need insight on IMM5988

I am currently on a closed work permit. I am joining another firm. They are sponsoring my closed work permit employer transfer. The application for the same was submitted last week and I got IMM5988 letter saying I am authorized to work for my current employer until 2026 Nov. The only issue is it says if I leave Canada then this authorization will be cancelled. I have an international trip booked for December, will there be an issue with reentry and my work status with current employer upon return if I haven’t received authorization letter to work for new employer.

Yes. If you leave the work authorization is cancelled if new permit is not approved with your new LMIA. You aren't transferring your work permit. Thee is no such thing as an employer transfer, you are getting a new work permit with new LMIA. Unless you are staying with the same firm and moving locations.
