After obtaining my B.Sc. and my post graduate work permit, I decided that I wanted to take a certification course for 10 months at XYZ college to improve my chances of obtaining an entry level job. So I applied for a study permit to that effect.
Before the start of classes, I withdrew my application to XYZ college because I found a job that would qualify me to apply for CEC. Yesterday I got an email from CIC requesting I provide transcript or academic record that was obtained at XYZ college within 30 days. But the problem is that I neither attended classes at XYZ college nor got any form of academic records from XYZ college because I withdrew my application from XYZ college. On the bright-side, XYZ college said they will provide me a letter stating that I withdrew my application with dates and everything. I will send this letter as an attachment response to CIC tomorrow with detailed explanation.

Do any of you have any suggestions or comments regarding this? Great responses would be much appreciated.

Did you mention you have attended this college in your CEC application?

No i did not. I did not even mention it. They say the study permit application and presumed I studied at XYZ college

DO you think sending CIC this information will be sufficient?

So you got PGWP and then again you applied for Study permit. Were you issued study permit or no?

I was issued the study permit and I was told by cic that it had no effect on my pgwp

Yes I think then letter of withdrawal from college will be enough as you don't have any other supporting document, and I would also suggest that you send an explanation letter stating that why you withdraw from college after you were issued study permit.

You can,t depend on the cic stuff over the phone' different people may give you different answer. usually the issue of a study permit will cancel the work permit. but cic had a messed up system. you better confirm with them, better with some written confirmation or even an email from them as a proof to support yourself.

Its not possible the issuance of a study permit cancelled my work permit. I that case I would have received a letter saying that your work experience was not authorized instead of provide transcripts.

No they are waiting for you to send additional document to see whether you have qualifying work experience or not that's what I think. If you studied during you qualifying work experience then that work experience wont be taking into consideration. If you say that you didn't study during time qualifying time period then they will consider your work experience. I might be wrong. But does it make sense to you ??

Yes Goku that makes sense to me. Im so glad I didnt take classes that would have really been bad. And Goku, thanks again for clarifying

I will keep you guys updated on what happens next
