Need information regarding a childs legal status

Hey folks,
I have a question my brother in law has a Canadian citizenship while my sister currently has PR and is expecting a child, my question is can she travel back to her home country (Pakistan) and give birth there? and if she does give birth at her home country, what will be the status of the baby? Will it automatically get a PR or citizenship? If not what will be the process of taking the child back to Canada and how long can it take?

As your brother in law is a citizen then assuming he is the father the child will be a citizen at birth. After birth will need to apply for a citizenship certificate/Canadian passport to come to Canada.

Cannot answer the implications if any on what the citizenship rules are for children born in Pakistan whether dual citizenship for example is allowed by Pakistan.

They should also look at health care when they return to Canada. Mother and baby may have to wait for up to 3 months for coverage. Child born abroad will not be able to pass down citizenship if their child is born abroad. All dependent on father being not born abroad to a Canadian citizen himself.
