Need Information on new PR application

Hi Seniors,

I am gathering the documents for applying PR. But my current WP is going to expire in MARCH . I have applied for an extension of my WP as well.

Can i send the application with current WP in Feb? or Do i need to wait for new WP and then apply??

Please suggest me on this..
