I need some information about obtaining a Live in Caregiver status. I am working as a Cashier in Alberta and there will be no chance to apply for a PR since Cashier is a low skilled job. I have found an Employer and willing to get me an LMO as a Caregiver to them. I have heard some news from other people that I can obtain LMO and Working Permit for that but on the time I will apply for the PR after 2 years will be a problem for me since I came here as a Contract Worker with a Cashier status and I do not have a Caregiver experience.
Need advice on this please, what are the procedures to avoid this such issue? I've heard that on the time of applying for the working permit, need to exit to any U.S. Boarder to change the status? Please advice on any other options, thank you.

To be approved for a live-in caregiver work permit you either need to have one full year of paid work experience in a related field during the last three years - or you need six months of full time studies in a related field during the last three years.

Do you either have live-in caregiver experience or have you completed studies in the last three years?

If you don't meet one of these criteria then your application for the work permit will be refused.

You will also need a medical examination, CPR, and First Aid certification.

You can apply as a TFW, caregiver then once you have the year experience, change your status to that under the LCP, but in order to qualify under the LCP you must apply for your WP at a consulate/visa office outside Canada.
