Hi,

I was doing M.Eng from university of Ottawa. I was in my fourth term but due to bad academic standing, i was withdrawn from my program. My study permit expires in december 2016. I have few questions:
1. I'm afraid that university might report my withdrawal from program to CIC. Will they do so?
2. Can i take admission from some other program and extend my study permit later?
3. And when i apply for other universities or colleges, do i have to mention about this withdrawal?
4. If i get admit in some other institution, are there chances of rejection in my study permit extension later on because of the withdrawal? Coz there is no point in starting a new program if I dont get extension.
5. Are there chances to secure admit from a decent university or should I apply for colleges?

I do not have any guidance or information and would really appreciate if someone can guide me..

Thanks.

1. They are obligation to report your withdrawal to CIC. So yes - you should expect they will.
2. Yes - but be aware that if you are out of school for more than 90 days your study permit will be automatically canceled and you will be left with no status in Canada.
3. You should mention it as part of your academic history.
4. Sure - anything is possible.
5. I'm sure you can secure a spot with a low end university - I'm not sure about a "decent" university.
