Hi. My friend entered Canada as a visitor then she decided she wants to study instead, she got approved of the study permit and a work permit. Then, this year she can’t afford her studies anymore and already stopped studying. Is her visitor visa still valid? What does she need to do? Does she restore her status as a visitor? And what does she put on the question “what is your current immigration status in Canada?”? Her study permit is valid until December 2020, but again, she stopped studying. Not sure what her immigration status should be. Helpppp

Her school should have reported her as not attending. If they did she would have lost her status. If they don't report her she will be out of status in december.

How long ago did she stop studying? She may need to restore her status in Canada.

Her study permit may no longer be valid since she stopped attending school. Schools report students who stop attending to IRCC and then IRCC automatically cancels the study permit.

She should be fine to restore her status but it would be good to know exactly when she stopped her studies.

She obviously should not be working. Hopefully she stopped working as soon as she stopped attending school.
