I've been a PR for 4 years. Currently my marriage isn't going so well and my wife would like a break. I've been thinking about using this time to go and spend it with my family since I haven't seen them much since moving here. Problem is, I don't know what I have to do. I'm hoping it's not permanent. I'd only be taking clothes and some personal belongings, nothing big. I would however get a job back in the states, for the short period of time I'm there. Who do I need to contact? Would I have to notify the government about my gst/trillium. I just want to be sure I do everything right because I'd rather not risk my residency here. Anyone that has answers, I apologize you currently are or had to go through what I'm going through. It sucks.

Why not considering relocating to another province or apply citizenship? Then you won't need to worry for losing your PR.
