My family and i would like to immigrate into Saskatchewan. My wife was adopted by her step dad, a Canadian citizen, a few years ago. We have applied for citizenship for an adopted child. They received the application in January 2014. The website shows it as "in process" still.

I have a job offer from an oilfield company that I want to take, but we want to move up and and start as soon as we can. I thought I read that oilfield was excluded from an labour market opinion, but when we went to the border they said we needed one.. With this job it doesn't look like it qualifies for he skilled worker program. I was an auto technition for the last 17 years. I have a 2 year degree in computer system technology from an accredited college.

We have no idea on where to go next.. We tried for a family nominee program, but that won't work as her step brother has a violent crime charge, that is currently filed for a pardon. My wife and I records are clean. W

Thank you for your help

Forgot to add that we are currently us citizens

If you wife is approved as a Canadian citizen, then she will be able to sponsor the rest of your family for permanent residency. Whether she is approved for Canadian citizenship depends on a number of things, including when she was adopted (how old she was).

If you would like informatin about the Saskatchewan Nominee Program as a way of immigrating to Canada, then you should read through the following web site:

http://www.saskimmigrationcanada.ca/sinp

And then join the discussions in the Provincial Nomination section of this forum.

If you would like to start working immediately, then your only real option is to have your employer in Canada obtain an approved Labour Market Opinion. You can then obtain a work permit at the border.

Would I be able to bring my wife and kids across on the work permit?

If it's a skilled / semi-skilled job then yes - you should.
