Hello seniors,
What's the best way to practice for IELTS writing section. Is it enough to read a good number of practice essays and letters that are available online. Or is it at all necessary to actually write down a couple of them as well.
I have more than a month in hand. Please share your advice on the best practises.
Thank you all!

I just finished my IELTS best way for writing is to practise it! Pratise makes perfect and have someone read it for u and give u advise. There is alot of material online that show you what the examiner is looking for like transitional devices etc its not that hard

I recently gave my IELTS and got 7.5 in writing.Just read through online essays and practice writing. You need not write the entire essay, just write points.
My personal strategy was like this
1st para - Intro
2nd para- reasons to agree
3rd para- reasons to disagree
4th para - conclusion
The main problem most people is they run out of time (so did I), so they tend to rush towards the end.So yeah good practice is important.

Hi,

Just like you I was fearful of the Writing section but I got IELTS Writing Band 8. This is what I did: - I learnt the format and what they are looking for:
- how you write I formal letter (business like) and informal letter (to friend/family)
There are different ways of writing these letters

- for the essay you have to read a lot of samples and practice
e.g. On one hand ......, on the other hand,

Here are some links of websites I used which helped me greatly and I owe my Band 8 to. You can click General writing Task 1 and Task 2. There are over a 100 examples of each

1. ielts-exam
2. ielts-simon
3. ieltsliz
4. ielts-blog

You need to skip a line to make a new paragraph and indent.
Also check Youtube there are some great lessons just search IELTS Writing General Training.

Note: I read a lot of sample Task 1 and Task 2 which gave a lot of ideas which I used in my exam.

I wish you all best and pray you will do well.
