You will still have to wait to receive PR before moving your stuff to Canada if you decide to do an inland spousal sponsorship. You can apply for an OWL and that will arrive around 4 months after you apply for sponsorship.
When do you usually receive PR after marriage? Also what is OWL?
I would not move to Canada until I can legally move my stuff and work as well. So essentially I'd return home, apply for sponsorship, live in the U.S and work while I wait to be approved and save up money during that time to move.

Sorry owl should be OWP. It will take approximately a year to get approval. You may have difficulty visiting Canada while applying for PR but it might be easier via land border and since you are from the US.

How likely would I be to get an OWP after 4 months of being married? Also if I did get an OWP could I legally move then?
And why would it be difficult for me to visit Canada while applying for a PR? Is that not allowed?

If you do an inland sponsorship you should be able to get an OWP in 4 months without a problem. It is very common thing to do. The inland sponsorship process was really meant for people who have already been living and usually studying or working in Canada when they get married. Think you will still end up with an issue bringing your items across the border until your get PR.

When the border agent knows you are applying for PR they may have concerns that you will stay in Canada and not return to your home country. If you were from another country and needed a TRV it woule likely be refused. Since you are from the US they are likely to be more lenient but you should travel with a proof that you are intending to return to your home like proof that you are working, have an apartment/lease, etc.

So I would not qualify for a OWP within 4 months if I was not already living there?

Also is there any chance of me getting denied for a PR?

Yes you would qualify. You will have to apply for inland sponsorship while you are in Canada and have plans not to travel outside of Canada until you get approved for PR.

Getting PR through spousal sponsorship should be easy but we don't know everything about you so nobody can give you that guarantee. Since you are from the US there won't be big concerns about your applications.

So I can live here until my sponsorship is approved and still apply and qualify for an OWP after 4 months?

If you get married and apply for inland sponsorship with OWP. As I said before you still may not be able to move your stuff until you get the PR. Think you need to spend some time reading about the various forms of sponsorships on the government website.

In order for you to apply for an inland spousal sponsorship you must first either be married or common law.

You can not drive up here with your car full of stuff, and your cat, expect them to allow you entry as a visitor, get married and then apply. You would need to likely come here 'light' (meaning store the majority of your stuff) bring the cat, a couple suitcases (something like a visitor would bring)and then seek entry.

Once in Canada either wait until you are common law (no working, no schooling, no nothing really) while you wait the full year and 1 day. You can THEN fill out your application for sponsorship and you will qualify for OWP inside of 4 months, full PR arriving roughly 12 months from application date.

OR

Once you are in Canada you can marry your girl, then you may apply for inland spousal sponsorship immediately. (or as soon as you can put a full application together) You will then be able to work roughly 4 months after your application is sent in.

If you do not wish to wait that long to work, you can opt instead to fly in for a visit, get married stay for a couple weeks then return to the US. You both can then get the application together and file an outland sponsorship. You can continue to live/work in the US and save for the move. You will be approved (barring any legal reason I am not aware of) in roughly 12 months (usually faster for US) and then you can pack up your car, your things and your cat and 'move' to Canada.

If I visit, get married and apply immediately for inland spousal sponsorship and get an OWP in 4 month could I with an OWP have a car and bring the rest of my belongings?

You can drive your car over the border, but you can not register it in Canada. You would need to provide an insurance policy from the US that would cover you out of country. Those are difficult and expensive to obtain. You can not officially import your car and bring your belongings until you have 'landed'

Technically no - you're not allowed to import your belongings until you actually have PR status. I would leave most of your belongings in the US until you have PR and are legally allowed to bring them in. Otherwise you might have problems at the border. The general rule is that until you are a PR, only bring what a tourist would bring (i.e. a suitcase or two of clothes, no household items). Leave everything else with friends or in storage somewhere in the US.
