Hi everyone!
I am an international student at Queen's University. I wanted to work full-time over the summer. But my study permit indicates that 'THIS PERMIT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THE HOLDER TO ENGAGE IN OFF CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT IN CANADA'. In order to work legally in Canada, I requested for an amendment a month ago. Now I just got with my documents returned and a letter indicated that it is incomplete because the offer from Queen's was missed. I am so frustrated cause it took a month to tell me it's incomplete and mail back to me. They could have emailed me and asked me to send my offer to them. I recently got a job opportunity from a great company and I would probably work on May 1st. But now, I need to send back to CIC again, which means I will probably lose the chance to work and wait for my study permit back helplessly.
So questions:
1. does anyone know how long it takes to process a returned amendment?
2. I will go to Ottawa tomorrow. Can I just go to their office and give them my documents, hoping they can give me a updated study permit during the visit?
Thank you all,
Gary
