Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and would like come up with few questions I've been curious about.

Currently I am working as a Marketing coordinator (NOC 1123) full time position and also working in a retail store (gas station) as a merchandising supervisor (part time). I've been working as a Marketing coordinator since July 1st and based on that I've almost 6 months of experience by the end of December.

My manager from retail store offered me a full time assistant manager position (NOC 0621) starting from January with a good pay ($23) and I was wondering if I leave my current job and take the full time position at retail store, will it be affected to my cec experience(or application) when I will be applying for my permanent residence 7 months from now. As I heard its a managerial position, they might not accept my 7 months of experience as an Assistant manager.

Or should it be okay with my two job experience?
July to dec - Marketing coordinator (6 months)
Jan to july - Assistant manager - retail (7 months)

FYI: Ive been working at the retail store from last 2.5 years, so I think I have had enough experience to get the assistant manager position.

Please recommend me with some good advices and your thoughts will be much appreciated.

Thanks ,

Your friend

Please give your comments and your help will be greatly appreciated. I just needed to know , will it be okay if I apply under cec with 7 months of experience as a Assistant manager -Retail along the 6 months of experience as a Marketing coordinator.

Thanks again,

If you plan to use NOC 1123 and NOC 0621, you can. Keep in mind, that Retail managers can some times be confused with Retail supervisors (NOC 6211). Make sure your duties will match 0621 and will not be confused with 6211 (cannot apply using this).

Only the following NOC's are ineligible to apply under CEC:

Cooks (NOC 6322)
Food service supervisors (NOC 6311)
Administrative officers (NOC 1221)
Administrative assistants (NOC 1241)
Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 1311)
Retail sales supervisors (NOC 6211)

Hello I have a query with respect to this, Here is a description of the same:

I have 1 year 9months experience in Noc skill level A-1122 (management consulting)

I also have 1 year 6months experience in NOC skill level A- 1111 (financial accounting and auditing)

Can I combine my work experience and state it for 3 years although it has different NOC codes but same NOC skill level?

Thank you.

Yes, as long as they are both foreign, or both Canadian experience.

Hi thank you for your reply. So when I create the Express entry profile this won't be an issue for listing my primary occupation?

Hello! question in respect to this statement, why are those jobs above considered as ineligible to apply under CEC?
