good morning,
I need some help to understand the definition of dependant type 2 of the application to sponsor parents / grandparents.

I'm sponsoring my mother, I do have a brother who is 47 years old with a mental disability due to a car accident he had when he was 40 years old. He is married with children.

If I read the definition of dependent type two:
The child is 19 years of age or older and has been financially dependent on a parent since before the age of 19 due to a physical or mental condition.

my question is... is it possible to include him on the application? or he does not quallify becasue he is only dependant of my mother when he had the accident at 40 years old and not before he was 19 years old?
I would really appreciate your take on this, thank you.

No - definitely not possible to include him in the application. To include him, he would have to be entirely dependent on your mother since before the age of 19 to now. Dependent means he cannot live alone or work and she has to provide for him completely (including financially).

If he's married with children - he obviously hasn't been dependent on her from before the age of 19 until now.

If he wants to immigrate - he has to qualify and apply on his own.
