Hello,
I have recently been Offered Admission to Lakehead University, it was sent to me on the 25th of August (but i didnt accept until the 3rd of September). I previously had been studying in Canada and unfortunately my Study Permit expired the end of July, a full month before I was extended the Offer. Currently I am staying under Work permit issued to me in July, that is valid until July 2017.
With that little bit of information out of the way, my question is if I would be *Restoring my status as a student* or applying for a fresh study permit?
I am asking since every website and or information page lists the events leading to letting your study permit expire as an offence (like overstaying your welcome). As I understand I am still legal in Canada after the expiry and due to the unfortunate timing of the Offer of Admission I wouldn't have been able to apply for an extension.
I would appreciate any advice on the matter, I will be sending an application once I have enough information.
Thank you,
