Hi Guys,

I need some help,

I would like to know if there's a problem if my mailing and residential addresses are different?.. will it be more complicated? because I indicated in my mailing address my current address outside my country where I work as a foreign work, while my residential address is my true address in my country of origin.

Can somebody give my a good advice regarding this matter. I need your help plss.

God bless all.

Hi itguy29,

Hopefully not, I have the same case as yours but mine was the other way around my mailing address is my origin country which is Philippines and my residential address is Singapore where I am currently working. I have submitted my PR application with CIO last 17 Sept and haven't got any reply yet. Good luck!

Complicated only in the sense that your correspondence (if via post mail)will be sent to your mailing address and not your current address. Usually mailing address is where you intend all mailed correspondence from CIC will be sent. So if they are different, well you may incur expenses/delay in sending those letters (especially MR) from your mailing address to your current address.

/hope this helps....

Hi Sir,

What is MR?.. by the way that's what I intend to happen because I'm working abroad and all correspondence should fall to my mailing address, I just added my residential address in my home country as an alternative address.. Thank you so much for the shared experience.

Hi Firefox,

Thanks kabayan for the wonderful answer... I prepared to receive all the correspondence in a place where i'm currently working and living, because if i will put my mailing address in the Philippines it would be a big problem for me because I'm working in Saudi Arabia.

No problem kabayan, I have opted to received it in our Phil address since my nominated VO is CEM, so thought would be a problem for any paper based correspondence the embassy might have if I choose to send it here in singapore.

MR is the Medical Request (common term) - more formal is Immigration Medical Examination request (IME). Usually these forms are numbered and has your photo affixed and original needs to be presented to the physician doing the medical exam. So this is sent via post/mail. If you opted to have your mailing address as not your current address, then this MR will be sent to the mailing address and you may have to ask someone to send it over. This is the only complication IMHO I see. CEM does send it to your mailing address - although in my experience - even if overseas addresses they send it via PhilPost. Well - you know how PhilPost is....
