U can send from multiple places. However don't... Any Cargo. The transportation cost won't make it worth the effort. U'd get all those things@cheaper rates here as well.

Please help, i just want to clarrify, I received my medical request, and planning to submit my RPRF and NBI on Tuesday ( August 3, 2010). At the bootom part of the Canadian Embassy's Letter, there's a box written quote " The information we have requested above must be provided to us within 60 days from the date of this letter. All the required application forms (IMM Forms) can be downloaded from the website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada at www.cic.gc.ca. Failure to provide the information within the time indicated may lead to the refusal of your application."

I just want to ask. What does that mean? What are those IMM forms? It does not indicate in the letter that I need to submit specific or certain IIM forms.

Pls. help me, need to shed light on this statement indicatcated on the box at the botttom of the letter.

Thank you very much.

I met somebody here who had come from Saudi( originally from Bangladesh), she sent Milk powder (NIDO)- 10 kg, fruit jam, soya dal- 20 kg in Cargo.
For 2 days she had to visit cargo people which is behind pearson int airport, paid transportation 50$ for that, had to wait for 3-4 hours, they located on 2nd day, did not handover, milk powder was sent for testing and then on 3th day get got her cargo, milk powder and jam not released, testing fee and demurage 60$. So she got 20 kg soya dal in $110.
Milk powder and soya were given free to her in Saudi since was was working in some hospital but it costed $ 110 + the botheration here.
In any mall here you get soya $2 -$2.5 a Kg.
It is not worth sending things in cargo unless those having good worth or you are attached to it.

what about few things to cargo...like wii, computers, xbox and few more things bought few months ago.....plz do share

To Qorax,
f I were you, I would get concerned. Patience is one thing, pragmatism is another. You have been waiting for 6 years now, possibly mostly passively. I really don't know what advise to give you, since you have written also to CHC London and they have responded back in almost (repeat almost) standard format.

One silver lining I see in their response is that they have asked applicants to contact again in October 2010 if they do not hear from CHC London. That means, they are forecasting processing of most of the pending applications in or by Oct 2010.

In your case, you may like to contact some good consulting agencies, like Lalani Associates, etc. They may be of some help, but I really don't know. Seniors like Manj can possibly advise better to you.

This is first time I am writing to u,that give me some suggestions how long 200 Chc LOndon have to wait( those whose cases shifted to London now).

Hello Kunal,

Good that you will be moving to Canada in Jan 2011, wish you all the best!

Answering your question:

Please note that there are 3 different modes by which you can export your goods.

1) Courier Mode
2) Air Cargo Mode
3) Sea Cargo Mode

The courier mode have its pros n cons as it will be more expansive compared to 2 other modes, other side it will be less hassle in paper works etc..

The Air Cargo mode shipment will be cheaper compared to Courier mode. Well, in Air cargo you can consolidate (combine) two shipments in to one and can export under one Airway Bill (MAWB: Master Airway Bill). You may ask your Indian people to export it to Dubai (DXB), and from DXB you may consol two shipments in to one and export to Canada under one AWB.

In Airway Bill (MAWB) you have to show shipper (sender) and consignee (Receiver), both addresses should be Name.. Full postal address with Zip/Pin code and must not with Post Box No. Hence make sure that you must have a valid postal address of Canada, or else you shipment will classified as “Unknown Cargo” and will be in custody of Customs, you may face lot of problems later on while filing delivery request and customs people may screw you like hell.

Sea Cargo mode (LCL shipment: Less than Container Load) is much cheaper then above both, it may cost you USD 25 per CBM (cubic meter) from DEL to DXB and from DXB to Canada it will cost you approx USD 50 to 60 per CBM. Transit period: DEL-DXB : 8 to 9 days via Nhava Sheva (JNPT) port of Mumbai & DXB-Toronto : 18 to 20 days

1 CBM = 1 meter in length x 1 meter width x 1 meter height
Air cargo shipment formula: Gross weight or volume weight which ever is higher, airline will consider it as chargeable weight.

Air cargo shipment weight formula: L x W x H (if cms) divide it to 6000 = Answer is volume weight

OR

Air cargo shipment weight formula: L x W x H (if inches) divide it to 366 = Answer is volume weight

Both in above Air & Sea cargo mode you will be required to furnish following documents:

1) Invoice copy 7 copies (showing value of goods to minimal saying 2nd hand goods exported as for migration purpose) lets say USD 300 or so..
2) Packing list – 7 copies – mentioning LWH, weight, volume etc.. (no need to show value of goods in packing list)
3) Self declaration – mentioning purpose of exports etc...
4) Passport photo copy
5) visa stamp photo copy.
6) Your Air ticket photo copy.

Below are name of International airports of Canada where your cargo can destine:

Toronto, Mirabel, Dorval, Vancouver, Calgary, Hamilton

Below are name of International Sea ports of Canada:

British columbia
HALIFAX,Nova Scotia
MONTREAL, Quebec
PRINCE RUPERT,
TORONTO, Ontario
VANCOUVER

Applicants from some regions r put into stringent B/ground & Security checks. And this takes time. I hope u understood. Moreover, CHC-ND 2004 cases r also in the same boat.

It's frustrating & saddening, I know. But that's the way it is currently. Many such applicant had reapplied under the Fast Track when it kicked-in during late 2008; & quite a few of them have landed as well. Those who didn't then, have moved their 2nd apps by early 2010; some@Meds now.

Ppl with consultants had taken this chance, with some real smart consultants advising them. Nonetheless, Ppl with lousy consultants continued to perish, w/out moving another apps. And if they werent in the 38 List, they couldnt anyway. Ditto for self applied ones.

But, with the latest 29 NOC rule, that opportunity has also vanished for many. Yet, if some of those 2002-2004 applicants do make it to the 29 NOC list, it's worth the time to reapply now.

BTW, the ball seems to be heavily against the 2004 CHC-Isb & ND cases as of now. However, why don't u send them some repeat email queries?

Qorax

To Qorax,
I'm a 2004 Sep-applicant and I inquired about my status from London immigiration office then on aug 19th got an email from london office , which is as follows

As of April 1, 2010, applications for permanent residence under the Economic categories for citizens or residents of Pakistan will be processed by the London, UK. Although Islamabad will continue processing a few applications that are close to completion, the majority are being transferred to London. The file transfer of existing permanent residence applications under the Economic categories is currently underway.

If you have received instructions from our office in Islamabad to submit documents, please submit the documents to the mission in Islamabad as instructed.

If you have received instructions from CIO Sydney to submit your application package, please submit these documents to London. If you have already submitted your application package to Islamabad, then Islamabad will automatically forward this on to London.

If you are enquiring if your application has been transferred and will be processed in London, please be advised that our office will contact you when we are in a position to begin processing your application. You may resend your enquiry after October 2010 if you have not received any correspondence from our office. We regret that our office cannot provide status updates at this time.

At this point, it is too early to tell what the new processing times will be for these cases in London.

London office sends immigration decisions and information requests by post or email to the mailing address or email address provided in the application. Therefore, it is important that our office be notified immediately of any change of address or email address. Please also notify us if you would like to withdraw your application. For all other updates, wait until you are contacted by london office or the Islamabad office.

I need your comments on this email.

Noman,

This is a std letter that they have issued to everyone similar to your case/timeframe. It means as it describes... they have nothing to add w.r.t. your case progress & u need to await any indication from CHC-London.
