So here is the situation , my friend applied for citizenship and waiting for the test date but he don't have a job since last year and living with his family so he is wondering that since he don't have a job so it will affect his application? and what he suppose to tell the immigration officer about his job when he go for the test .
please help....

Does he have other proof of continuous residence?

He should carry the Record of Employment (ROE) from his last employer and first and last payslips. These will easily prove his employment tenure.

It is better to carry the old employment records with you for interview however, please note that being on job is not a requirement to become a citizen. Even if somebody is on welfare, they can still apply for and become Canadian citizens.

As far the interviewing officer is concerned, tell them the truth that you are in between jobs. It should not impact your application in any negative way.

Hope this helps.

Not having a job has no relevance to citizenship application. To know if you were living in the country they check the passport. ...not your job status!
